CycloApp — in effect July 7, 2026

CycloApp is a community app that helps Québec's winter cyclists know the snow-clearing state of the streets. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

Data we collect

• Account: email address, username, password (encrypted), chosen city.
• Routes: the geographic paths you draw. They are private — visible to you only.
• Snow-clearing reports: GPS position, chosen status, date and time. Visible to other users in your city.
• Photos: the photos you attach to a report, with their location. Visible to other users in your city.
• Usage data: app usage events (screens viewed, features used), linked to an account identifier, to improve the app (PostHog).
• Crash reports: technical information when the app crashes (Sentry), to fix bugs.

What we don't do

• No selling or renting of your data.
• No advertising, no cross-app tracking.
• No background location: your position is read only while the app is open.

Where data is stored

Data is hosted by our technical service providers: Supabase (database and photos), PostHog (usage data), Sentry (crash reports) and Resend (service emails). Their servers are located in the United States.

Retention and deletion

• Your data is kept for as long as your account exists.
• You can delete your account directly in the app (menu → “Delete my account”): your profile, routes, photos and reports are then permanently erased.
• You can also delete each photo individually (menu → “My photos”).

Your rights

In accordance with the laws applicable in Québec (including Law 25), you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data: write to contact@cycloapp.ca. We respond as promptly as we can.

Security

All exchanges are encrypted (HTTPS). Data access is restricted by record-level security rules (Row Level Security): each user can only modify their own data.

Minimum age

CycloApp is not intended for children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes in a significant way, the date at the top of this page will be updated and the app will let you know.
